Spring's here! Get yo flowers out! DIY: how to keep cut flowers last longer

I love flowers, but sometimes you can't find your favourite in pots, like tulips. Fortunatelly, it's spring, the best time for buying cut flowers. They can really change the look of the room, because they bring colour and freshness. And you want to keep them alive as long as you can. So here's a couple tips how to keep cut flowers last longer. Enjoy!

1. Waterrrr
I think you know what I mean. Flowers without water won't last long, so you have to remember not only to refill the water, but actually change it every day. It protects from development of bacteria. The flowers will get a fresh kick. Don't forget to clean the vase everytime you change the water!

2. Cut the stalk
If you buy cut flowers you notice that they are cut horizontally. It's not a good way to cut them. Because of the roots flower 'drinks' as much water as it can, but without them it can't. Cut each flower diagonally so they will drink more water.

3. Ice ice baby
You wouldn't expect that, but cut flowers love cold. Put some ice cubes in water so they feel better.

4. Pepsi or Coke?
Yes, cola is actually good for cut flowers. It contains carbon dioxide and sugar, which can help them to grow. Just pour in the vase a little bit.

And last but not least, don't keep them in the sunlight for so long.
